Patrick John Daugherty - a very brief biography
My faithful copy of Charles Willson Peale’s 1772 portrait of Colonel George Washington can be seen at the Fayette County Courthouse, Uniontown, Pennsylvania.
Patrick John Daugherty has been a professional artist since his first sale through a local frame shop as a junior in high school. The artwork was a pencil portrait of Robert Kennedy. Upon earning his Master of Fine Arts from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, Patrick and his bride Ellen, also an artist, moved to Southwestern Pennsylvania where they currently live and create art. His philosophy of life is based on a sign that was once prominently displayed at Idlewild Park, Ligonier, Pennsylvania, that read, “You Can’t Beat Fun”
